Nugenix is marketed as a testosterone booster and plays off the ingredient of Testofen, which is basically Fenugreek re-packaged and branded.
As you may or may not know, I have been taking testosterone boosters for a while now.
When assessing any new product, the first place I am always going to look to is the ingredients formula and dosage levels, and this is to make sure that the product is safe and has all the effective ingredients I like to see in a test booster.
So without further ado, let’s jump into my Nugenix review.

Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster Ingredients Assessment
If you have browsed around my website a bit, you know that I have four must-have ingredients that I always look for in a natural testosterone booster. That’s because these ingredients have passed multiple clinical trials and have been scientifically proven to be the most effective in boosting testosterone levels. These ingredients are D-aspartic acid, Magnesium, Zinc, and Vitamin D. Nugenix only contains one of these ingredients, Zinc, so I am extremely skeptical of this product going into this.
Let’s take a look at the Nugenix ingredients formula and see what it does have:
TestoFen:
Testofen is basically a hyped-up version of Fenugreek. When I reviewed clinical studies on the impact of Fenugreek on testosterone levels, I did find some evidence to suggest that this seed extract can, in fact, increase testosterone levels, however, is best used when stacked with the right ingredients.
In one study, 60 healthy males between the ages of 25 and 60 took 600mg of Fenugreek daily for 6 weeks. At the end of the study, the subjects reported improved libido and increased muscle strength. Serum testosterone levels were maintained within the normal healthy limits, suggesting that Fenugreek and Testofen can help the body to return to normal levels of testosterone production. This ingredient will certainly do something for you; however, it’s certainly not the most effective ingredient you can have.
The label doesn’t actually disclose exactly how much Testofen is contained, it does disclose that there is 2103 mg of Testofen and L-Citrulline Malate combined. It is not clear how much of each is contained. However, even 2103 mg of straight Fenugreek a day would be completely safe and is probably even on the scarce side.
L-Citrulline Malate:
This amino acid has been contained to help the body absorb and use Testofen better, basically. It has been proven to help the body recover quicker from workouts, boost aerobic performance and relieve muscle soreness (study). I have actually not come across L-Citrulline malate before and this was an interesting find for me. However, I cannot find any evidence to suggest that it impacts testosterone levels.

Vitamin B6 and B12:
I have actually looked into these ingredients thoroughly in the past, as several testosterone boosters carry them. As far as I can tell, they have very little to no impact on testosterone levels.
Zinc:
Good to see one of my must-have ingredients here finally. Zinc has been proven to increase testosterone levels in multiple studies. The dosage level is 1 mg which is not much at all. I was excited to see Zinc in here, but with only 1mg, this is not going to do anything for you.
Overall, the ingredients formula has been pretty disappointing for me. The Zinc is in too small a dosage to do anything, while the B vitamins have no evidence to suggest they actually boost testosterone levels. The only active ingredient that will do anything for you is Fenugreek through Testofen. You will get some benefit from this; however, Fenugreek is a pretty weak testosterone booster compared to other natural supplements such as D-aspartic acid, Vitamin D, and Magnesium which would have much more impact.
Nugenix Free Side Effects
Is Nugenix safe? The good news is that the dosage levels are too small to cause any side effects and the ingredients are all-natural, so you should be completely safe taking this testosterone booster. Remember that the whole point of natural testosterone boosters is that the natural ingredient formulas protect you from harmful side effects. The usual concern is to look at dosage levels; for example, over 40mg of Zinc daily can be harmful. But you don’t have anything to worry about here. I couldn’t find too many complaints of side effects from users; however, I did find this one below.
User Results
I found the following Nugenix results from the users below. As you can see, a lot of them are very mixed. Overall there were a good number of positive Nugenix reviews but also a lot of negative ones. It seems like the jury is out, and I am always suspicious of user reviews because they are easily faked.
Nugenix Complaints
This product has many complaints on the Better Business Bureau and six complaints on Rip-off Report. Many people report being scammed by the free trial because they were rebilled without their knowledge or consent. Be sure to unsubscribe from future billings if you do not want to continue to receive the product after the free trial has ended.
So Does Nugenix Really Work?
To be honest, I cannot see this product working very effectively, and based on all of the complaints and bad reviews, I would never buy this myself. I’m not saying you won’t see any good results from this, and there are plenty of good reviews out there as well. It’s more that I believe there are much more beneficial products out there on the market. I am completely happy with the product I am currently taking (Prime Male) and plan to stick with it.
Where to Buy Nugenix
The best deal on Nugenix is this Amazon listing. There is also Nugenix for sale at Vitamin Shoppe and GNC. The cost of the product is at the upper end of the market, and to me, this is not an upper-market product. There are products with much more effective ingredients and formulas.
So what do we give it?
My Recommendation
I would not use this product myself. I am personally using Prime Male and am loving it; a bottle is the same price as a bottle of Nugenix and contains so much more boosting power. I hoped you enjoyed my Nugenix review.
