Nugenix Free Testosterone vs Nugenix Total T (The Key Differences)

It’s safe to say that I’ve tried out a few different testosterone boosters in my time. Nugenix is a popular one that comes up often, I get a lot of questions about it.

One thing I found confusing was that they have two different testosterone formulas.

I have written this article to differentiate and provide some clarification around the differences.

Our Top Testosterone Booster

TestoPrime is currently our No.1 Ranked Testosterone Booster. It has the most effective ingredients formula on the market according to our research and testing.

Nugenix vs Nugenix Total T (The Quick Version)

Nugenix Free Testosterone has an extremely basic formula that is, frankly, outdated.

Specifically I want to see ingredients such as D-aspartic Acid, Vitamin D and Magnesium which are scientifically proven to boost testosterone production. Nugenix FT has none of these. So I am super sceptical about how effective it really is.

Nugenix Total T is basically the same formula as Nugenix Free Testosterone with ElevATP and Testofen added in. The problem is that these a proprietary formulas with no transparency around what they actually include. In my view, this could be dangerous.

For many people this is not a big deal, and certainly both of these products are sold in large quantities. However, personally, I would prefer to play it safe and buy a product that fully discloses their ingredients and I know is both effective and safe.

If you insist on using a Nugenix product. Here are some of the use cases where you would want to pick one over the other:

  • Use Nugenix Free Testosterone if you want to just feel better and have a bit more energy in your day. Although I doubt it will do much for you (Sorry, I just really feel strongly against this formula).
  • Use Nugenix Total T for a much stronger energy boost and if your goal is to get in shape. Honestly though, just be wary around the lack of transparency of these two active ingredients. Take at your own risk (Don’t say I didn’t warn you).

In my humble opinion if you are over 50, you should just buy Prime Male for much better and proven results. If you are under 50, buy TestoPrime (this is the one I use).

Full Ingredients Comparison

Let’s have a look at the ingredients both products contain.

Nugenix Free Testosterone

Vitamin B6

Studies have found that when we are deficient in vitamin B6, it can reduce the rate of testosterone production and increase the rate of the hormone’s metabolic clearance. This then leads to an overall decreased level of testosterone in the body.

Therefore, by increasing your intake of vitamin B6 through this supplement, you will prevent this decline in the hormone from occurring.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 deficiencies have also been linked to reduced levels of testosterone.

Showing the relationship that this vitamin has with testosterone, one study found that 76% of participants who suffered with Chronic Testicular Pain also had deficiency in vitamin B12 and testosterone.

65% of those who opted for vitamin B12 and testosterone repletion reported experiencing significant improvement of symptoms, with 16% reporting some improvement and only 19% reporting no improvement.

This vitamin has also been found to be great for boosting energy levels.

Zinc deficiency has been linked to people having low levels of testosterone, and studies have shown that daily zinc supplementation can be good for people who have low testosterone levels and helping to treat infertility.

L-Citrulline Malate

L-Citrulline Malate has been shown to help increase strength and endurance, improving your ability to lift weights and aiding in the growth and development of muscles.

Fenugreek Extract

Fenugreek is an herb that has been found by studies to enhance levels of testosterone and boost male’s sexual function. It has also shown to improve strength.

Nugenix Total T

Nugenix Total T contains many of the same ingredients as Nugenix Free Testosterone, such as vitamins B6 and B12, zinc, L-Citrulline Malate, and fenugreek extract. However, there are a few extra ingredients that it contains.

ElevATP Blend

ElevATP Blend contains a mixture of ancient peat extract and apple fruit extract.

This ingredient supports the function of testosterone due to its ability to stimulate production of ATP.

Increasing levels of ATP will give you a huge boost in energy, which can be helpful in day-to-day life, in the gym, or even in the bedroom.

There are scientific studies that support this, showing the ingredients’ ability to enhance performance in resistance training.

Eurycoma longifolia Extract

Eurycoma longifolia extract, also known as Long Jack, has been used as a herbal remedy for centuries.

It has been thought to help boost libido, treat male infertility, and treat erectile dysfunction due to its ability to increase testosterone levels.

In one study, 90% of participants who took 200mg of Long Jack supplements daily experienced an increase in levels of the male sex hormone.

Animal and human studies have also shown that the herb is able to trigger sexual arousal in men.

Boron is an element which has been believed to help increase production of testosterone, and links have been found to its ability to treat erectile dysfunction.

One review found that boron is able to increase testosterone levels by up to 25%, and also allows free testosterone to attach to proteins in your blood, which has been found to bring some great benefits to you as you age.

Another study found that, after taking 10mg of boron daily for a week, free testosterone levels in the 8 male participants significantly increased.

Safety and Potential Side Effects

Let’s take a look at if there are any differences in the side effects of the two supplements.

Nugenix Free Testosterone

One of the main side effects of Nugenix Free Testosterone is that it can interact with other medications and cause allergic reactions. Therefore, it is so important to check with your doctor before trying any type of supplement, such as Nugenix Free Testosterone, to make sure it is suitable for you.

There have also been common side effects reported of upset stomach, sleeping issues, and heart palpitations.

Another safety concern related to Nugenix Free Testosterone is the fact that it is not FDA approved. However, the brand states that the product is manufactured according to FDA guidelines with natural ingredients that are pure and potent.

Nugenix Total T

The recommended dose of Nugenix Total T is to take 3 capsules daily. If you exceed this, you risk overdosing and experiencing potentially unpleasant effects.

It was difficult to find side effects specifically associated with Nugenix Total T, however it was found that you could experience symptoms such as mild digestive discomfort, and issues with your kidney and liver, as these are common with testosterone boosters.

However, Nugenix Total T is made under FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, which gives some confidence in the quality of the product. The brand also assures that no fillers or stimulants are used.

Overall, this product appears to be very safe as the ingredients used to make it are natural, and the brand appears to be fully transparent with how their product is made.

What Users Are Saying

Looking at reviews from customers is always a great way to see if there are any differences in the performance of two products, such as these testosterone boosters.

From the reviews found online, one of the most common things reported from customers is that Nugenix Free Testosterone is that it greatly helps to boost energy, and many have said that it has helped improve their workouts, enabled them to work out more, and allowed them to achieve their fitness goals.

Another interesting thing found was that the majority of the positive reviews were from men over the age of 50.

However, as with anything, there were of course some negative reviews. These were mainly saying that the product didn’t work, even after persisting with it for months.

There were also a few comments from people saying that it increased their blood pressure.

Nugenix Total T

From reading reviews of customers who have tried Nugenix T Total, one of the very common things reported was that it led to a major increase in libido and sexual performance.

Many people said it didn’t work for them, and one customer directly compared it to Nugenix’s Free Testosterone, saying how the Total T didn’t work as well for them.
